Governor Cuomo announced on September 16, that New York State residents can enroll in a qualified Marketplace plan using the current COVID-19 Special Enrollment Period (SEP) through the end of 2020.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is far from over and it’s more important than ever for New Yorkers to have access to high-quality, affordable health insurance,” Governor Cuomo said. “New York has resources available to help those who need coverage during this difficult time, and anyone who doesn’t currently have health insurance, regardless of the reason, should visit NY State of Health and enroll today.”
New Yorkers should call the Marketplace at 1-855-355-5777 to set up the special enrollment period and choose a plan. Effective dates are based on enrollment dates:
Enroll by 10/15 for a 10/1 or 11/1 effective date
Enroll between 10/16 – 12/15 2020 will have an effective date of 11/1 or 12/1 2020.
