As one of the Managing Directors of SDL Brokerage + Group Health Solutions, I have the privilege of addressing a topic that holds immense significance for me personally and professionally – LGBTQ+ Pride. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I understand firsthand the importance of supporting and advocating for the rights and well-being of individuals within this vibrant and diverse community.
Pride Month is an opportunity for us to reflect on the progress made toward equality while recognizing the ongoing challenges that persist. It serves as a powerful reminder of the urgent need to stand united in our support for LGBTQ+ individuals, not just during this celebratory month, but every day of the year.
It is alarming to see the increase in discrimination, hate crimes & rhetoric against the LGBTQ+ community, as States have enacted anti-LGBTQ+ laws across the country.
Many individuals face prejudice, exclusion, and even violence simply because of who they love or how they identify. This is not just a battle fought by others; it is our battle as well. As leaders and members of the business community, we have a unique responsibility to create an environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and empowered to be their authentic selves.
